Where Will Vince Young End Up?

To start, the Tennessee Titans have yet to cut Vince Young so that will be the first hurdle to overcome, after the NFL lockout is lifted, before we can get an accurate understanding of what teams are seriously considering signing him. Over the few months, there has been plenty of speculation as to where he’ll end up but there still isn’t a consensus favorite as of now.

John Glennon of the Tennessean lists a number of teams (Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks) that should have some amount of interest in the quarterback.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano likes the idea of Young backing up Michael Vick in Philly while ESPN’s John Clayton is sticking with the Miami Dolphins as the best spot for him. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen tweeted last night that Dolphins might have interest in Young.

Last month there were rumors that the Washington Redskins had some interest in him but that has since been shot down by a number of sources.

Of the listed options I would say that the Miami Dolphins would make the most sense for him but he would have a shot at competing for the starting quarterback job in Minnesota, Oakland, and Seattle so they shouldn’t be ruled out at this point in time.

As for the Eagles, they really like Mike Kafka and I doubt that they would feel more comfortable with Young as their backup quarterback. They’ve said that they intend to be aggressive in free agency but I doubt that the means that they are planning on pursuing Vince Young if he ends up being available.
