Willis McGahee Not Likely To Play In Week 9

Broncos head coach John Fox mentioned that RB Willis McGahee will only play this weekend if he’s able to carry the ball with both hands, via the Denver Post.

It would not be a consideration, playing one-handed. He’s got a plate and screws in there,” Fox said.

McGahee had surgery a little over a week ago so it hard to expect that him to be able to return and effectively contribute as a runner, receiver, and pass blocker at this point.

There’s still a chance that he could play this weekend but it seems highly unlikely at this point in time. As we’ve already mentioned, Knowshon Moreno and Lance Ball figure to split carries during McGahee’s absence.
