Willis McGahee Tears His MCL, Out 6-8 Weeks

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Broncos running back Willis McGahee suffered a torn MCL in yesterday’s win over the Chargers.

Jay Glazer adds that McGahee also suffered a fracture to his leg.

McGahee can still return for the playoffs unless the Broncos end up placing him on season-ending Injured Reserve. It’ll be interesting to see if the Broncos opted to do that or try to holdout in hopes for his return at some point during the postseason. For now, Ronnie Hillman will take over as the Broncos featured back with Lance Ball to handle passing situations. It’s worth noting that the Broncos will bring in free agent running back Steve Slaton for a workout Tuesday.
