Donte Stallworth & Deion Branch Battling For Roster Spot?

Mike Rodak of ESPN believes that a battle between WR Donte Stallworth and Deion Branch is likely to come down to “which of the two veterans has more left in the tank.”

Outside of the other Patriots wide receivers, there’s most likely just one roster spot.  Another point that Rodak mentions is that in his prime, Stallworth’s “was an impressive downfield threat, using his speed to stretch opposing defenses,” but now at age 32 “Stallworth may no longer be able to rely on his speed.”

If Stallworth still possesses close to the speed that he once had before being suspended for the entire ’09 season, he may have the upper hand in this competition, since for the past few years the Patriots have had troubles stretching opposing defenses.
