“Zero Chance” Of The Cardinals Trading WR Larry Fitzgerald

Colts owner Jim Irsay fueled a number of trade rumors over the weekend after he tweeted that they were in the process of working on a deal for a wide receiver. Since then, names like Victor Cruz, Larry Fitzgerald, Doug Baldwin and Davone Bess have been tossed out as speculative options.

Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic tweets that there is “zero chance” of the Cardinals trading Fitzgerald at any point this offseason.

Somers mentions that the Cardinals really like “love” having Fitzgerald and the fact that they would incur a $15 million cap hit by trading him further suggests that there’s no chance of this happening.

Fitzgerald is under contract through the 2018 season. He has massive salaries coming his way throughout the remainder of this deal, so he could be a candidate to restructure his contract in the next few years.
