Bears Signing OL Germain Ifedi To One-Year Deal

According to Ian Rapoport, the Bears are signing former Seahawks OL Germain Ifedi to a one-year deal.

Ifedi was Seattle’s starting right tackle last season but Rapoport says the Bears might try him out at guard. They have a hole in the lineup following the retirement of starting right guard Kyle Long.

Ifedi, 25, is a former first-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2016. He was entering the final year of his four-year contract worth $8,265,110 and set to make a base salary of $1,577,060 for the 2019 season when Seattle declined his fifth-year option.

Ifedi was testing the market as an unrestricted free agent in 2020.

In 2019, Ifedi started all 16 games for the Seahawks and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 64 offensive tackle out of 81 qualifying players.
