Adam Schefter is reporting that Browns are signing G Joel Bitonio to a monster contract extension.
- According to Schefter, Bitonio receives a five-year, $51 million extension that includes $23 million guaranteed.
Bitonio, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Browns back in 2014. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $5.461 million contract and set to make a base salary of $1,164,777 for the 2017 season.
In 2016, Bitonio was limited to appearing in just five games, due to a Lisfranc injury that led to him being placed on injured reserve. Pro Football Focus has him rated as an above-average guard with solid ratings in both pass and run blocking.
