Buccaneers Hiring Butch Davis?

The Buccaneers have hired Butch Davis as a defensive assistant according to Fox Sports.

Davis was the Head Coach of the Browns from 2001-2004, and had a 24-35 record. Previous to that, he was the head coach of the University of Miami. From 2006-2010 Davis was the Head Coach of the University of North Carolina, posting a winning record. He was fired just before the 2011 season because of constant NCAA violations.

There are reports that Davis will get $1.7 million in severance pay if he does not take another job until 2015. Some have speculated that this is holding up the deal.
