The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have re-signed QB Ryan Griffin on Tuesday, according to Rick Stroud.
According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the new deal is for two years and worth a total of $2.9 million.
Griffin, 29, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Tulane back in 20. New Orleans decided to make him one of their final roster cuts but signed him to their practice squad once he cleared waivers.
The Saints eventually promoted him to their active roster but waived him the following preseason. The Buccaneers claimed him off waivers back in 2015 and he’s been in Tampa Bay ever since.
Griffin has yet to appear in an NFL game.
Over the course of his four-year career at Tulane, Griffin threw for 9,026 yards while completing 59.9 percent of his passes to go along with 56 touchdowns and 35 interceptions.
