Unrein, 30, originally signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Wyoming back in 2010. Houston waived him coming out of the preseason and was signed to the Broncos’ practice squad. Denver signed him to a futures contract then re-signed him as an exclusive rights free agent in 2014.

The Chargers signed him as an unrestricted free agent in 2015 to a two-year deal, but was among their final roster cuts. He later signed on with the Bears and just finished a two-year contract.

In 2017, Unrein appeared in 12 games for the Bears and recordedĀ 31 total tackles and 1.5 sacks.
