Adam Schefter reports that the Cardinals are signing veteran OLB Terrell Suggs to a one-year, $7 million contract.
This is actually a $3 million pay increase from what Suggs made the past two seasons in Baltimore.
Jason La Canfora reported last night that Suggs had informed the Ravens that he will be moving on to another team that was likely to be the Cardinals.
Prior reports mentioned that possibility of Suggs departing for a deal with the Cardinals, given that he has a home in Arizona.
Suggs, 36, is a former first-round pick of the Ravens back in 2003. He played out the final year of his five-year, $28.5 million contract that included $16 million guaranteed and made a base salary of $6.5 million for the 2018 season.
Suggs was an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
In 2018, Suggs appeared in 16 games for the Ravens and recorded 34 tackles, seven sacks, a forced fumble, a recovery returned for a touchdown and six pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 40 edge rusher out of 107 qualifying players.
We had him featured in our Top 100 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
