Chiefs Waive Former Starting LB Ramik Wilson

According to Adam Schefter, the Chiefs waived former starting LB Ramik Wilson to make room for LB Sam Barringtonwho was claimed early Sunday.

Wilson, 24, was a 2015 fourth round selection for the Chiefs out of Georgia.

Wilson played in 11 games his rookie season, starting two, racking up 13 solo tackles, seven assisted tackles, and recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

Wilson’s release came as a surprise as he was expected to see a decent amount of snaps at inside linebacker next to Derrick Johnson to open the season.

Barrington is expected to see playing time immediately as a result.
