Eagles Signing WR Mike Wallace To One-Year, $2.5M Deal + Incentives

Peter Schrager is reporting that the Eagles are signing veteran WR Mike Wallace to a one-year contract on Thursday.

  • According to Ian Rapoport, Wallace receives a one-year contract worth $2.5 million to go along with incentives.

There wasn’t a lot buzz regarding Wallace this offseason, even though he was among the best available free agent receivers. It looks like Philadelphia plans to slot Wallace into Torrey Smith‘s role in their offense from last season.

Wallace, 31, is a former third-round pick of the Steelers back in 2009. He spent four years in Pittsburgh before signing on with the Dolphins in 2013.

Wallace was later traded to the Vikings before the cut him loose after one season. The Raven later signed him to a  two-year, $11.5 million contract that included a $4.75 million signing bonus and he’s once again testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2017, Wallace appeared in 15 games for the Ravens and caught 52 passes for 748 yards receiving and four touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 51 receiver out of 116 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.
