Jaguars Could Wait To Draft A QB Until Round Two After Re-Signing Chad Henne

Ryan O’Halloran spoke with a league source who doesn’t see the Jaguars taking a quarterback with the No. 3 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft now that they have re-signed QB Chad Henne.

“With Henne back, I don’t expect them to take QB until 2nd round and maybe not until 3rd or 4th round,” O’Halloran’s source said.

Many expected the Jaguars to grab one of the top-three quarterback prospects — Teddy Bridgewater, Johnny Manziel or Blake Bortles — in the first round, but given that they have several needs right now, it probably makes sense for them to focus on selecting the best available player.

It’s hard to say who could be available to them in round when it comes to quarterback prospects, as Derek Carr has been mentioned as possibly coming off the board in round one.

Jimmy Garoppolo could be someone to keep an eye on as his stock has reportedly improved throughout the draft process.

We have the Jaguars taking Jadeveon Clowney at No. 3 overall in our most recent 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
