Jamaal Charles Signing One-Day Contract To Retire With Chiefs

Veteran RB Jamaal Charles will sign a one-day contract to retire with the Chiefs, per 610 Sports Radio.

Charles, 31, is a former third-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2008. After nine years in Kansas City, the Chiefs released him in 2017 and he later signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the Broncos.

In 2018, the Jaguars signed Charles to a contract only to cut him loose after two games. Charles rushed for seven yards on six carries (1.2 YPC) to go along with two receptions for seven yards receiving and no touchdowns.

During his career, Charles carried the ball 1407 times for 7563 yards (5.4 YPC) and 44 touchdowns. He also caught 310 passes for 2593 yards (8.4 YPC) and 20 touchdowns.

Charles’ 5.4 career YPC is the highest of any running back in the Super Bowl era. He was a four-time Pro Bowler and was twice named to the Associated Press’ All-Pro team.
