Kenny Britt Had Offers From Chiefs & Jaguars Before Signing With Patriots

Veteran WR Kenny Britt told reporters that he chose the Patriots over offers from the Chiefs and Jaguars, per Ben Volin of the Boston Globe.

Britt ultimately agreed to a two-year contract with the Patriots that will pay him $900,000 this year and $1.5 million in 2018 with a chance to earn up to $2 million by reaching incentives included in the contract.

Volin adds that the Patriots are loading up Britt’s plate this week to see how much of the playbook he’s able to retain and if he can suit up for their Week 15 game against the Steelers.

Britt, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Titans back in 2009. He spent five years in Tennessee before signing on with the Rams in 2014.

The Browns signed Britt to a four-year, $32.5 million deal back in March before he was placed on waivers last week.

In 2017, Britt has appeared in nine games and recorded nine receptions for 233 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 103 overall receiver out of 116 qualifiers.
