Field Yates reports that the Lions are signing Rams’ restricted free agent RB Malcolm Brown to an offer sheet.
Los Angeles now has five days to match the Lions’ offer.
The Rams used a low-round tender on Brown, which is a one-year, $2.025 million deal. Los Angeles would not receive any compensation for him if he signed with another team and they declined to match the deal.
Brown, 25, signed on with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Texas back in 2015. He was promoted from their practice squad later that year and finished his three-year contract with the team.
Los Angeles re-signed him to a one-year exclusive rights contract in the 2018 offseason. He is currently a restricted free agent.
In 2018, Brown appeared in 12 games for the Rams and recorded 43 rush attempts for 212 yards (4.9 YPC) to go along with five receptions for 52 yards receiving (10.4 YPC) and one touchdown.
