Adam Schefter reports that the Panthers are re-signing Daryl Williams to a one-year contract on Wednesday.
- Jourdan Rodrigue reports that the Panthers re-signed Williams to a one-year, $6 million extension through the 2019 season.
Williams’ asking price reportedly soared above what the Panthers were able to pay, leading to reported interest from the Bills and Giants. But in the end, Williams ends up back in Carolina.
Williams, 26, is a former fourth-round pick of the Panthers back in 2015. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2.837 million contract and made a base salary of $705,000 for the 2018 season.
In 2018, Williams was limited to appearing in one game after suffering a knee injury that required surgery and led to him being placed on injured reserve.
We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
