Jason La Canfora reports that the Panthers are signing former Browns RB Chris Ogbonnaya to a contract.
Ogbonnaya, 28, worked out for the Panthers last week, and given the amount of injuries they have sustained at the running back position, it’s not surprising to see them sign someone to a contract Monday.
It’s worth mentioning that Carolina released RB Tauren Poole on Monday, which leaves Darrin Reaves as the most likely running back to start in Week 5.
Last year, Ogbonnaya appeared in all 16 games with the Browns and ran for 239 yards on 48 carries (5 YPC) while contributing 48 receptions and 343 yards receiving. He scored two touchdowns.
