Report: Cardinals Signing OT Kelvin Beachum

According to John Gambodoro, the Cardinals are signing veteran OT Kelvin Beachum to a one-year deal.

Kelvin Beachum

Beachum was a starter the past few seasons for the Jets and should provide some additional depth at offensive tackle for the Cardinals.

Beachum, 31, is a former seventh-round pick of the Steelers back in 2012. He played four years for the Steelers before signing a one-year, $4.5 million contract that included a four-year, $35 million option with the Jaguars as a free agent in 2016.

The Jaguars declined their two-year option on Beachum after one season. Jacksonville would have had to make a $5 million payment had they picked it up and Beachum would have been owed $7.5 million (2017) and $8.5 million (2018) base salaries fully guaranteed.

Beachum ended up signing a three-year, $24 million deal with the Jets in 2017. He played out the deal and was allowed to leave via free agency this offseason.

In 2019, Beachum started 13 games for the Jets and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 39 offensive tackle out of 82 qualifying players.
