Colts Signing QB Jacoby Brissett To Two-Year, $30M Deal

Update:

Ian Rapoport reports that the Colts and QB Jacoby Brissett have agreed to terms on a two-year deal worth $30 million and includes $20 million guaranteed at signing.

According to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe, the Colts and QB Jacoby Brissett are close to an agreement on a new deal that should be signed in the next 24 hours.

Volin mentions that this should be a nice pay raise for Brissett, who is in the final year of his rookie contract.

The Colts will move forward with Brissett as their starting quarterback following Andrew Luck‘s surprising retirement.

Indianapolis has signed Brian Hoyer to serve as Brissett’s backup.

Brissett, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Patriots back in 2016. The Patriots traded Brisset to the Colts coming out of the preseason in 2017 in return for WR Phillip Dorsett.

Brissett currently in the final year of his four-year, $3.411 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $890,114 for the 2019 season. He is in line to be an unrestricted free agent in 2020.

In 2017, Brissett had appeared in all 16 games and thrown for 3,098 yards while completing 58.8 percent of his passes to go along with 13 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 240 yards and four touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding Brissett as the news is available.
