Report: Packers Have Interest In Re-Signing NT Ryan Pickett

Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports that the Packers remain in contact with free agent NT Ryan Pickett and are expected to keep in touch in the coming days.

Packers’ HC Mike McCarthy mentioned during the Scouting Combine that he wasn’t ready to close the door on Pickett returning next year.

“I think [Pickett] has a little bit left,” said McCarthy. “This has really been the healthiest he’s been. He’s done a good job taking care of himself.

Pickett, 34, was one of the only free agent acquisitions from Packers GM Ted Thompson during his tenure in Green Bay.

Last year, Pickett appeared in all 16 games for Green Bay and totaled 21 tackles. Pro Football Focus had Pickett rated as the No. 53 defensive tackle in the league last season.
