Report: Ray Lewis Close To Signing With ESPN

Richard Deitsch of SI.com reports that Ravens LB Ray Lewis is close to reaching an agreement with ESPN on a multi-year contract.

The report mentions that Lewis would have a “significant role” on Monday Night Countdown and would also be featured on some of their other platforms.

Lewis announced that he will be retiring after the season, but it seemed almost certain that Lewis would end up with a media job at some point in the near future.

According Deitsch’s sources, Lewis was seeking a deal that would offer him the flexibility to see his son’s games at University of Miami.

There’s no reason to think that Lewis wouldn’t be a great addition to any NFL coverage team and I’m sure ESPN is very excited about the possibility of having him.
