Report: Carlos Rogers Signing With The Redskins Remains A Possibility

Update:

Mike Jones of the Washington Post reports that free agent CB Carlos Rogers returning to Redskins is a “possibility.”

  • Dianna Marie Russini reported last night that the Redskins are discussing a possible reunion with veteran CB Carlos Rogers who was released by the 49ers earlier in the day.
  • Russini adds that Rogers would “love” to be back in Washington next year.

Rogers, 32, spent the first six years of his career with the Redskins before signing on with the 49ers back in 2011.

Washington is believed to be focused on upgrading their secondary and Rogers could end up being a value option for some team.

Last year, Rogers totaled 47 tackles, two interceptions, and eight pass defenses over the course of 16 games last season. Pro Football Focus rated Rogers as the No. 71 cornerback in 2013, struggling particularly in coverage.
