Saints Re-Signing RB Travaris Cadet

Aaron Wilson reports that the Saints are re-signing RB Travaris Cadet, despite interest from the Jets and Bills.

Cadet, 28, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State back in 2012. He spent three years in New Orleans before he was allowed to test the open market in 2015.

The Patriots elected to sign Cadet to a two-year contract worth $1.75 million. Unfortunately, they cut him loose during the season. The 49ers later signed him to a contract after they lost Carlos Hyde for the season, but was waived towards the end of the year and later claimed off of waivers by the Saints.

New Orleans brought him back on a one-year deal for the 2016 season.

In 2016, Cadet appeared in 15 games for the Saints and rushed for 19 yards on four carries (4.8 YPC) to go along with 40 receptions for 281 yards receiving and four touchdowns. He also contributed 144 kick return yards.
