Texans Re-Signing RB Alfred Blue

According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans and RB Alfred Blue have agreed to terms on a one-year contract Monday.

Recent reports had mentioned that it was possible Houston could bring Blue back for the 2018 season, so this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

Houston’s depth at running back is thin and bringing Blue back will bolster the position and their special teams, especially with RB D’Onta Foreman recovering still from torn Achilles.

Blue, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Texans back in 2014. He played out the final year of his four-year, $2,337,932 contract with the Texans and is currently testing the free agent market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2017, Blue appeared in 11 games for the Texans and rushed for 262 yards on 71 carries (3.7 YPC) to go along with seven receptions for 54 yards receiving and one touchdown.
