The Washington Redskins announced Wednesday that veteran DE Stephen Bowen is retiring from the NFL.

Bowen, 32, originally signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Hofstra back in 2006. He spent the first six years of his career in Dallas before joining the Redskins in July of 2011.

After four years in Washington, Bowen signed a one-year contract with the Jets.

Bowen was testing the open market as a free agent, but there wasn’t any reported interest in him up to this point.

Over the course of his 10-year NFL career, Bowen recorded 102 tackles, 12.5 sacks, one forced fumble, a recovery and nine passes defensed.
