I love your first two picks for Seattle and hope this works out. These are the exact two players I would target if I were the Hawks’. On the other hand several teams have expressed a desire to trade down so a more likely scenario would be Perry in the first filling DE/OLB needs and Kendricks in the 2nd filling the ILB. Perry is not a ‘reach’ for Pete Carroll in the first round because I don’t think he will still be there when Seattle picks in the second round. Look what happened last year with Carpenter.
I like your ideas. It’s hard to argue against a team using their available resources to address their most obvious needs. CLE needs play makers so why not give Colt McCoy some quality options before moving on.
As far as our Mock Draft is concerned. I really liked the idea of them trying to maximize their two first-round picks. There’s no guarantee that Kendall Wright or Michael Floyd will be there so they could grab Blackmon, even though I do see it as a bit of reach, and get a decent RB prospect in Martin.
Oh yea i would have no problem with blackmon and than martin. it was just weird because I havent seen it before. But even if that was the case, I and a big chunk of Cleveland wouldnt be super excited about weeden. It would be a better pick to take those two in the first and than Alshon in the second. that would actually be unbelievable. I mean I’d rather have trent, a kendall wright or stephan hill and than alshon in the second. I honestly wouldnt even take a QB this year. the organization finally needs to show a little faith, and actually try and give the kid a chance. WR WR RB OT first three rounds. Cause if you waste a pick in those rounds on a QB your taking away a neccesity that any quarterback playing her will need. But i do like your mock. you do a solid job
Bobby Wagner is a non fit for what the Patriots are wanting to do at linebacker…He’s a cover and run stop 4-3 OLB only..Not a pass rusher..No way they pass on Vinny Curry, who is an excellent 3-4 OLB pass rusher..No way they pass on a pass rusher in the first either, unless they trade out of one of their first rounders…Understand ,yearly,Belichick brings guys(prospects) into Foxboro, and shows interest ,just to screw with other teams making them think he’s interested…Do you really think he was going to draft Tebow in the first round??? He heard McDaniels gushing about Tebow, and smoked him into wasting a first on him by bringing him into camp..Also understand that any time BB is talking about running a 4-3,its really smoke and mirrors about what he’s wanting to do .He only ran the 4-3 last year because going into camp,he had no outside personell at linebacker ..Noone available in f/a except 4-3 defensive ends,so he had to adjust….He wants the versatility of the 3-4 to disguise his blitzes and coverages..He wants DE/OLBs that can play lined up standing up,or with their hands in the ground…Bruce Irvin is another name you might want to watch for N.E.ย
Brian Quick is a project with upside, true, though its better for them to grab someone who can help downfield sooner….With Donte Stallworth being the only guy on the roster who can actually run by someone(wr),I see Belichick looking at guys who can fly, catch the ball, and be close to NFL ready, like a Chris Givens…Patriots are wanting to win now…I wouldn’t mind Quick, but Givens can produce sooner,,and absolutely fly…
ย ย ย ย Now that Jeffrey is running better, you think the Jaguars still take Stephen Hill over him???ย Lots of scenarios….Always fun to chat about the draft!
ย ย You think Eagles are going after David Wilson while their in the middle of long term discussions with McCoy?? I ask these things, because I figure I may be missing something on the inside….Packers could sorely use David Wilson…Doug Martin would be better, but won’t be available…Love your second and third round predictions on the Cowboys…!!
Good stuff as always!
I can’t even contest your point regarding Belichick and Bobby Wagner. I think I’m actually going to make that switch right now. Haha!
Jeffery has helped his stock but there’s still too many negatives to make make him head’s above Hill who is a “cleaner” player.
There’s no question that there could be better fits for David Wilson but it’s not about where he could go. We put the Mock together based on who’s currently on the clock. Wilson could end up being a steal at #45 and the Eagles have been adamant that they would like to find a compliment for McCoy. They could sign a veteran player but Wilson’s hard to pass when you have the picks to work with.
Thank you.
BTW,,I definetly don’t want to portray that my tone is smug at all….Just chatting, and throwing my .02 out there.
Iย still think that arguably the best off season move in the league was the Eagles grabbing DeMeco Ryans.Smart ,smart pickup of a productive player that fills a gaping hole..That alone even gives the Eagles a chance to entertain the thought of going after a running back…Eagles defense and esp the secondary should be much, much better this year..
ย Now if I were Andy Reid,I’d be looking more at a complement to Lesean McCoy,,and anti McCoy if you will, instead of a Wilson type….My choice would be Terrance Gannaway out of Baylor in the 5th round….He is a finisher!!! Eagles haven’t had a finisher,or anyone with a finishers mentality(including the coach)since I can remember….He would be such a nice fit I feel….I’m probably all over the best offensive lineman possible in the first and second rounds for the Eagles…Mike vick can’t be running for his life after .75 seconds after every snap,,esp with Jason Peters going down for the year…IMO…You can’t argue with Brockers for them in the first,as I would love to see him drop to N.E. at #27..
I understand. As I’ve mentioned previously, it’s always interesting to hear what you guys are thinking because it seems like fans are really in tune with the needs of their team.
If Dont’a Hightower falls to Tampa im gonna be so excited. I don’t see the Steelers passing on him though.
In the 2nd round, why does the Rams pick before the Colts?
It’s because the Rams tied the Colts for the worst record so they swap picks every other round. You’ll notice that the Dolphins and Bills also swapped picks in the second-round.
Why would the Eagles pass on Zach Brown?
Again, another solid round IMO. Not sure if the RB’s (that aren’t Richardson) will fall this far though. I’m not too enthralled with them, but I think some team will take a chance on Lamar Miller in the first round.
That’s my feeling as well. I like all 3 of the 2nd tier RB’s but it’s hard to slot them higher when team’s having other needs and the value of RB’s has dropped as much as it has in recent years. The Bengals need a solid RB but I would take my chances in the 2nd and grab whoever’s available. I really like Doug Martin the best but chose to give the Jets Miller because of the speed compliment that he could be to Greene.
Richardson doesn’t fall to 16 and Rams don’t take Reiff 6th overall. Browns take Richardson and Rams take Blackmon. Zach Brown doesn’t fall that far in second round imo he is a 1st rounder.
To be honest, I don’t love the Reiff pick but considering their options and specific needs, there really wasn’t anyone else worth reaching for. Richardson’s great and could higher but it’s hard to justify taking a RB that high considering how the NFL has changed in the last few years. Zach Brown is terrible. The guys has amazing speed but lacks tackling ability, coverage skills and overall instincts to be a first-round pick.
Watch this and then tell me that he should be a first-round selection.

I see 7 or 8 WRs being taken in the first two rounds of your current drafts, and with the FA market almost saturated with them, Ive been thinking I would like to see the Bears wait to draft one until the 2nd Rd..Currently Joe Adams and Dwight Smith are posted near them and could be attainable with their 50th pick..Im starting to think they should go after a CB or a C with their 19th pick someone like Peter Konz out of Wisconsin..That would allow Garza to switch back to Guard, which he is better suited for anyway…What does everyone else think?
Thanks for the positive comment.
I agree with you about both the Bills taking an OLB and Ronnel Lewis being a potential fit. My logic here was that I really wanted to give them CB or an OT but with Jayron Hosley, Kelechi Osmele and Lavonte David off the board it became a value pick of sorts. Randle is a fringe first-round prospect and while the Bills could grab someone later, I didn’t want reach done for someone else. Lewis is a solid player that could really help his draft stock out a lot with a solid showing at the Combine so I’m admittedly a little low on him at this point.
It’s great to here from fans of specific teams because they tend to really know what matters most to their team.
Thanks again
I’m sure it’s just an oversight, but are the 49ers and the Rams going to share Alshon Jeffery?ย You have the 49ers taking him with pick 30 and the Rams with pick 33.ย I know he’s good, but not that good.ย I think he’s a great choice for SF in the first and in the second, they should take Chase Minnefield instead of another WR.ย WR and CB are probably their biggest needs, and with Jeffery and Minnefield, I can see two potential starters in year one.ย
The pick for Criner would be nice too, he’s going to turn some heads over the next few months leading up to the draft.ย He didn’t get a whloe lot of press out in AZ, and not many know who he is, but the scouts all know.
Bottom line, CB and WR in the first two rounds for SF.
Thanks for the positive comment.

Why does every mock draft see the Dolphins pick a DT in the 2nd Round??? Soliai will be gone, but with a move to 4-3 Odrick and Starks will play DT and Merling will be backup, maybe they consider resigning Langford, but Odrick and Starks are really good at 3-4 DE therefore they might do just as well playing the 4-3 DT position. I assure you the Phins will pick a WR who can also return kicks in the 2nd Round, because this is the Position they need to improve via Draft, drafting a DT as high as the 2nd Round wouldnt make ANY sense…
Great point. For me, it made sense because of the likelihood that they’ll lose Soliai but as you’ve pointed; that doesn’t mean that they’ll be drafting a replacement. I’ll consider this next week when we update the Mock Draft. Thanks for your incite.
I would be very suprised to see the Bears take a running back that high in the draft especially with having Forte and the way Bell played plus they might still have Barber.ย The Bears have far greater needs than a RB
You’re 100% correct. It was an oversight on our part. I’ve changed the pick to address their interior offensive line by giving them C Michael Brewster out of Ohio State.
