The San Francisco 49ers officially signed DB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles and DT Ray Smith to futures contracts for the 2020 season.
Smith, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Boston College back in April of last year. He later agreed to a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Lions.
However, Detroit elected to waive Smith coming out of the preseason. He was briefly signed to the practice squad before joining the 49ers in late December.
During his four-year college career at Boston College, Smith recorded 137 tackles, 1.5 sacks, an interception and seven pass defenses over the course of 36 games.
