Cam Inman of the Mercury News, citing a league source, is reporting that the 49ers have agreed to terms with RB Alfonso Smith.
Smith posted a 49ers logo on his Instagram account saying “I’m a Niner Babeeeeee!” this evening, so the report is really more of a confirmation.
Smith, 27, hasn’t found any reported interest this offseason, but the 49ers have a few players dealing with injury.
Kendall Hunter is done for the season and LaMichael James suffered a dislocated elbow this past weekend.
Last year, Smith totaled 54 yards rushing on 18 carries (3 YPC) and scored one touchdown while appearing in 16 games for the Cardinals.
