Field Yates of ESPN reports that free agent RBย Travaris Cadet worked out for the 49ers on Monday.
- According to Yates, Cadet could still be an option for the Patriots, who lost RB Dion Lewis for the season due to an ACL injury.
Cadet, 26, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State back in 2012. He spent three years in New Orleans before he was allowed to test the open market this past March.
The Patriots wound up signing him to a two-year contract worth $1.75 million contract, only to release him a fewย weeks ago.ย Since becoming available, Cadet has worked out for the Jets, Colts, Lions and Saints.
This season, Cadet was active for one game and caught one pass for two yards receiving.
