Bills Sign DT Tyrunn Walker, Release DT John Hughes

The Buffalo Bills announced Sunday that they’veย signed DT Tyrunn Walker to a contract and released DT John Hughes.

Walker, 28, originally signed on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Tulsa back in 2012. After two years in Newย Orleans, Walker signed aย one-year, $1.75 million deal with the Lions back in March of 2015 and later returned to Detroit on another one-year contract.

The Rams signed Walker to a one-year,ย $775,000 contract last March only to release soon after sexual assaultย allegations surfaced against him. Once Walker was cleared in the matter, he returned to the Rams on another one-year deal.

In 2017, Walker appeared in all 16 games for the Rams and recorded 23 tackles, one sack, a forced fumble, a recovery and four pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 110 interior defender out of 122 qualifying players.

We had him featured in our Top 50 Available 2018 NFL Free Agents list.

Hughes, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Browns back in 2012. He spent over four years in Cleveland before he was released a few weeks into the 2016 season.

Hughes had a brief stint with the Patriots before signing on with the Buccaneers midseason. The Saints gave him a shot to compete for a roster spot during training camp, but he was released as their trimmed their roster down to 53 players coming out of the preseason.

The Bills signed Hughes to a one-year contract a few weeks ago.

In 2017, Hughes appeared in eight games and recorded 10 tackles for the Saints.
