Bills
- Per WGR550’s Sal Capaccio, Bills HC Sean McDermott says the team will balance expectations for QB Josh Allen with the fact that he’s in his second year in the NFL: “We’ve got to continue to bring him along, but also understand he’s in just his 2nd year.”
Dolphins
- Per Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald, Dolphins S Reshad Jones says he will play this week after dealing with a cracked rib earlier this season.
- The Dolphins are expected to be in attendance at Colin Kaepernick‘s workout, per HC Brian Flores: “He’s a very good player. We’ll see what he looks like. … We like our quarterback situation right now. We’re going to do our due diligence. anytime you can add a good player, we want to do that.” (Alain Poupart)
Jets
- Per Brian Costello of the New York Post, Jets CEO Christopher Johnson spoke to reporters for the first time this season to show his support for HC Adam Gase: โI want to assure you there will be no changes in coaches here. Adam has the trust of this team. He has the trust of Sam. He has Joeโs trust. He has my trust. Heโs a good man. Heโs a good coach.โ
- Johnson said he was happy with the way Gase and GM Joe Douglas worked together after the rift with previous GM Mike Maccagnan: “Seeing him work with Joe, itโs a whole new dynamic in this building. Itโs a really positive dynamic. They have the same vision for this team going forward.” (Costello)
- Johnson added that making sure QB Sam Darnold didn’t have his third offensive system in as many years was a part of the decision to stick with Gase: “Itโs absolutely important, but thatโs not why Iโm keeping Adam. Thatโs certainly a component. Changing systems year after year is a disaster for a young quarterback, especially.” (Costello)
- Johnson was hopeful about the future of the team: “Thereโs a lot of work to do. Thereโs a great deal of work to do. Everyone understands that and weโre just getting started. But I feel really good about this team moving forward.” (Costello)
- Jets G Tom Compton will start for the rest of the season at right guard in place of injured G Brian Winters. (Costello)
