Chargers
Chargers WR Mike Williams says he expects to return to his prior form after a difficult rookie season in which he dealt with injuries for much of the year.
โItโs totally different for me. Iโm able to go out there and make those plays I couldnโt make last year, make the contested catches. The confidence just comes from being out there. Iโm back out there having fun,โ Williams said, via theย Los Angeles Times.
โI wasnโt able to do the things I do, the things that got me here,โ Williams added. โI wasnโt able to do those things. I wasnโt able to go up and make a catch like Iโve made. I couldnโt do it. I wasnโt able to move my body the way Iโve been able to move it and make those weird catches. My back was holding me back. My hamstrings were all messed up from my back. It was more than the back. It was connected. It was a lot more things. . . . The outsiders were the ones saying, โHeโs this or heโs that.โ But me? Iโm the one who knew I was hurt. It was simple: get healthy and we back. There was no doubt.โ
Raiders

- According to Michael Gehlken, the Raiders reached a four-week injury settlement with Whalen, which means he’s eligible to re-sign with theย team in Week 7 if he doesn’t secure an opportunity before then.
