Jason La Canfora is “hearing” that the Chicago Bears will work out North Carolina State QB Mike Glennon in Raleigh Tuesday.
Chicago could really use a backup quarterback after losing Jason Campbell to the Browns last month, but taking a developmental prospect like Glennon could be a motivational factor designed to push Jay Cutler next season.
Cutler, 29, is entering the final year of a five-year contract he signed with Chicago back in 2009. He recently mentioned that doesn’t anticipate working on a contract extension during the year, so it will be interesting to see what kind of production he puts up next season in Marc Trestman’s new offense.
