The Chicago Bears announced Tuesday that they’ve signed 10 players to futures contracts for the 2019 season.
The full list includes:
- OL Dejon Allen
- DL Abdullah Anderson
- DB John Franklin III
- WR Tanner Gentry
- WR Cyril Grayson
- DB Michael Joseph
- DB Jonathon Mincy
- RB Ryan Nall
- LB James Vaughters
- LB Josh Woods
Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.
Mincy, 26, wound up signing on with the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Auburn back in 2015. He was, unfortunately, cut loose coming out of the preseason and signed on with the Montreal Alouettes in time for the 2016 CFL season.
The Bears signed Mincy to a futures contract last year but released him at the start of the regular season. Since then, he’s been on and off of the team’s practice squad.
During his two years with Montreal, Mincy has recorded 108 tackles, three interceptions and two forced fumbles over the course of 32 games.
At Auburn, Mincy totaledย 211 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, a forced fumble, a recovery and 27 pass defenses over the course of four seasons.
