The Cleveland Browns announced Wednesday that they’ve waived OLB Corey Lemonier to make room for RB Darius Jackson, who was claimed off of waivers from the Cowboys.
Lemonier, 24, is a former third-round pick of the 49ers back in 2013. The 49ers elected to waive him coming out of the preseason and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Browns.
Lemonier is in the final year of his four-year, $2.714 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $685,000 for the 2016 season before testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent next year.
In 2016, Lemonier appeared in eight games for the Browns and recorded nine tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble, a recovery and a pass defense.
