According to Greg Auman, the Buccaneers are promoting DT Jeremiah Ledbetter from the practice squad to their active roster.
Ledbetter, 26, is a former sixth-round pick by the Lions out of Arkansas in the 2017 NFL Draft. He was entering the second year of his four-year, $2.5 million rookie contract when he was waived coming out of the 2018 preseason.
Ledbetter signed on with the Buccaneers’ practice squad shortly after clearing waivers unclaimed. He was promoted to the active roster late in the year but waived with an injury designation coming out of the preseason last year.
After a brief stint on the Ravens’ practice squad, he returned to Tampa Bay’s in October of last year and re-signed to a futures contract in December. He was among their final cuts coming out of training camp and re-signed to the practice squad.
For his career, Ledbetter has appeared in 17 games and recorded 14 total tackles and 0.5 of a sack.
