The San Diego Chargers have released veteranย WR/KR Jacoby Jones on Tuesday, according to Adam Schefter.
It’s not all that surprising that Jones was cut, given how big of a disappointment he’s been for the Chargers. However, they’ve sustained a number of injuries, so the time is interesting in that regard.
The Ravens could really use some receiver help, as they brought in a number of free agents for tryouts on Tuesday, so keep eye on them in the coming days in regards to Jones.
Jones, 31, signed a two-year, $5.5 million contract that included a $1.6 million signing bonus with the Chargers back in March. He was set to make base salaries of $900,000 and $3 million over the entire contract.
This season,ย Jones has appeared in five games, but has yet to record a single catch. He has 193 total kick return yards.
