The Kansas City Chiefs officially re-signed QB Kyle Shurmur to their practice squad on Tuesday.
Hereโs the Chiefs updated practice squad:
- WR Joe Fortson
- TE Nick Keizer
- DB Alex Brown
- LB Emmanuel Smith
- DE Cameron Malveaux
- G Ryan Hunter
- WR Gehrig Dieter
- DT Braxton Hoyett
- P Jack Fox
- QB Kyle Shurmur
Shurmur, 22, wound up going undrafted out of Vanderbilt back in May. He later agreed to a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Chiefs, but was waived coming out of the preseason.
The Chiefs re-signed Shurmur to their practice squad before promoting him to their active roster a few weeks ago. Kansas City waived him now that Patrick Mahomes is closer to returning from injury.
During his college career at Vanderbilt, Shurmur threw for 8,865 yards while completing 57.1 percent of his passes to go along with 64 touchdowns and 29 interceptions over the course of four seasons and 44 games.
