Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Cowboys are expected to hire Kellen Moore as offensive coordinator, Jon Kitna as QBs coach, and Doug Nussmeier as TEs coach.
However, Rapoport says that HC Jason Garrett is not expected to call offensive plays because the team’s brass likes him overseeing the operation.
The Cowboys have yet to make an official decision, but Rapoport says this is expected scenario for Dallas.
Moore, 29, originally signed on with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Boise State back in 2012. Detroit elected to move on from Moore at the start of the 2015 season and later signed on to the Cowboys’ practice squad.
Moore missed the entire 2016 season with a broken ankle but he returned to Dallas last March. After being waived last October, the Cowboys added him to their practice squad for the remainder of the season.
Last year, Moore made the decision to join the Cowboys as their QBs coach and end his playing career.
In 2015, Moore appeared in three games for the Cowboys and completed 58.7 percent of his passes for 779 yards receiving to go along with four touchdowns and six interceptions.
