According to Todd Archer, the Cowboys are placing third-round OL Connor McGovern on injured reserve and signing practice squad RB Jordan Chunn to the active roster.
McGovern is eligible to be designated to return from injured reserve starting Week 9 as he continues to rehab a torn pectoral muscle.
McGovern, 21, was the No. 90 overall pick in the third round by the Cowboys out of Penn State. He agreed to a four-year, $3,402,116 rookie contract including an $882,116 signing bonus with the Cowboys.
During his college career at Penn State, McGovern was a third-team All-Big 10 selection in 2018 and started 35 games over the course of three years.
