Jane Slater of NFL Media reports that the Cowboys are expected to open contract talks with restricted free agent TE Blake Jarwin at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis this week.
Depending on how the discussions go, Dallas can still use a restricted tender on him that will give them the option to match an offer he would receive in free agency.
The Cowboys may end up moving on from long-time TE Jason Witten this offseason, which means Jarwin could be in line for a much larger role this year.
Jarwin, 25, signed on with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State back in 2017. He joined their practice squad coming out of the preseason his rookie year and was promoted to their active roster shortly after.
In 2019, Jarwin appeared in all 16 games and recorded 31 receptions for 365 yards receiving (11.8 YPC) and three touchdowns.
