Josina Anderson reports that free agent TE Dwayne Allen‘s visit with the Lions has ended and he’s now in route to meet with the Dolphins.
Allen just wrapped up visits with the Ravens and Bills, so he has a decent market.
It’s worth mentioning that signing him to a contract won’t impact a team’s 2019 compensatory picks, given that he was released this offseason.
Allen, 29, is a former third-round pick of the Colts back in 2012. He signed a four-year, $29.4 million contract that included $16 million with the Colts in 2016 before he was traded to the Patriots for the 2017 season.
The Patriots elected to release Allen on Monday.
In 2018, Allen appeared in 13 games for the Patriots and caught just three passes for 27 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
