The Atlanta Falcons announced Monday that DT Grady Jarrett has signed his franchise tag tender for the 2019 season.
The franchise tag will run the Falcons $15,355,000 fully guaranteed for the 2019 season.
The Falcons and Jarrett have been discussing a long-term extension, but it remains to be seen whether they’ll be able to get an agreement in place before the July deadline.
Jarrett, 25, is a former fifth-round pick of the Falcons back in 2015. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $2.527 million contract and set to make a base salary of $1.907 million for the 2018 season.
Jarrett will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
In 2018, Jarrett appeared in 14 games for the Falcons and recorded 53 tackles, six sacks and three forced fumbles. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 5 interior defensive lineman out of 118 qualifying players.
