Ian Rapoport reports that former Ravens RB Alex Collins was suspended for three games by the NFL due to his arrest last spring.
Collins was arrested back in February after crashing his car and allegedly possessing marijuana and a handgun, which were two misdemeanors. His felony charges were recently dropped after pleading guilty to the incident. (NFLTR)
Collins received probation prior to conviction and the charges will be expunged after three years. He also paid a small fine of $200.
Rappoport adds that Collins is recovering from a broken leg and is expected to be medically cleared next week.
Collins, 24, is a former fifth-round pick of the Seahawks back in 2016. He was entering the second year of his four-year, $2.566 million contract that included a $184,384 signing bonus when he was cut loose by the Seahawks at the start of the 2017 season.
Collins signed on to the Ravens’ practice squad a few days later and was eventually promoted to their active roster. The Ravens brought him back on an exclusive rights contract last year but was released back in March following his arrest.
In 2018, Collins appeared in 10 games and rushed for 411 yards on 114 carries (3.6 YPC) to go along with 15 receptions for 105 yards receiving and eight total touchdowns.
