The Detroit Lions announced that they have placed DL Da’Shawn Hand on injured reserve, activated OT Halapoulivaati Vaitai from the injured list, and promoted OT Dan Skipper, DE Kareem Martin, CB Alex Myres, and OL Marcus Martin to their active roster.
The Lions also signed P Arryn Siposs to their practice squad.

Hand, 25, was selected in the fourth round by the Lions out of Alabama in 2018. He’s in the third year of a four-year, $3,141,964 contract that includes a $681,964 signing bonus and stands to make a base salary of $750,000 this season.
This makes the third consecutive season Hand has landed on the injured reserve.
In 2020, Hand has appeared in 10 games and recorded 19 total tackles, one tackle for loss, no sacks, and one forced fumble.
Vaitai, 27, was drafted by the Eagles in the fifth round out of TCU in 2016. He signed a four-year deal worth $2.56 million and made a base salary of $720,000 for the 2019 season.
Vaitai was testing the market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in 2020 when he signed a five-year, $50 million deal with the Lions.
In 2020, Vaitai has appeared in seven games and made seven starts for the Lions.
