The Detroit Lions announced Friday that they’ve re-signed RB Zach Zenner to a new contract.
Zenner, 26, signed on with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of South Dakota State back in 2015. He played out the final year of his three-year, $1.58 million contractย but the Lions declined to tender him an offer as a restricted free agent, which is why he was testing the open market this offseason.
In 2017, Zenner appeared in eight games for the Lions and rushed for 26 yards on 14 carries (1.9 YPC) and scored one touchdown. He also contributed 62 kick return yards.
