Lions Sign DT Ray Smith To PS, Release DE Jonathan Wynn

The Detroit Lions announced Wednesday that they’ve signed DT Ray Smith to their practice squad and released DE Jonathan Wynn from the unit.

Smith, 22, wound up going undrafted out of Boston College back in April. He later agreed to a three-year, $1.755 million contract with the Lions.

However, Detroit elected to waive Smith coming out of the preseason.

During his four-year college career at Boston College, Smith recorded 137 tackles, 1.5 sacks, an interception and seven pass defenses over the course of 36 games.
