49ers GM John Lynch said they “made every effort” to trade for DE Khalil Mack and their offer was “very similar” to what the Bears gave up to get him.
“We made every effort to try to secure his services,” Lynch said, via Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle. “… We went in there and we went in there hard. Our offer was very similar to the one that ultimately won out. I don’t know what went into the Raiders’ mind-set in terms of where they sent him. But that was one we knew we had a game-changer.”

The San Francisco 49ers officially ruled out WR Dante Pettis (knee) and list WR Trent Taylor (back) as doubtful for Monday’s game against the Packers.

The 49ers also list RB Matt Breida (shoulder, ankle), WR Pierre Garcon (shoulder, knee), TE George Kittle (knee), G Mike Person (knee), C Weston Richburg (knee), T Joe Staley (knee), and CB K’Waun Williams (illness) as questionable.
